Insta Natural Argan Oil Hair Mask

Make Up Mondays are back! I'm so happy to be doing this year's first post in the series. To start it off again, I am happy to be reviewing

Insta Natural's Argan Oil Hair Mask

. With winter here (yes we have winter in Los Angeles), my normally oily hair gets rather dry. In fact, lately I've been using a lot of heat on it. I've been using the blow dryer a lot because it's too cold to go out with wet hair and have also been using the straightener a lot. Therefore, my hair needs some extra care.

That's where

Insta Natural's Argan Oil Hair Mask

comes to the rescue. The mask is a deep conditioning treatment to help transform dry and damaged hair to beautiful healthy shiny hair. Like with other Argan Oil based products, it is super moisturizing. But it is not the only ingredient that helps revamp your hair. It also contains

Japanese Green Tea, Amino Acid Complex, Coconut Oil, Shea Butter, Jojoba Oil, Avocado Oil & Vitamin B5 to help penetrate hair and

provide it with the nutrients and hydration it needs. It also helps protect it of other external elements such as heat (i.e. blow dryers). Best of all the ingredients are organic so you can be assured you're not putting junk in your hair.

Personally, I use this product once a week and really love how soft it leaves my hair. I will first wash my hair with a deep cleansing shampoo. After making sure my hair is nice and clean, I will get a generous amount of

Insta Natural's Argan Oil Hair Mask

and leave it in my hair for about 10 minutes. If I have a shower cap handy, then I will put it on and continue with my shower while I let the mask do it's work. Then once the 10 minutes are over, I rinse it off and finish my shower.

After my shower, I will towel dry my hair before I blow dry it. I cannot even begin to describe how soft my hair feels after this. And best of all, it doesn't feel oily, it just feels soft and clean and healthy. Now I have tried other hair masks and I didn't like them very much because my hair would still feel oily or just not as soft as I'd expect. But with

Insta Natural's Argan Oil Hair Mask

my hair truly feels rejuvenated. Like I said, my hair has been taking a lot of heat (HA!) lately, so it really does need this extra care and hydration at the end of the week. And it leaves my hair smelling really good.

Hope this review was helpful. If you'd like to give your hair some extra care as well, you can purchase your own jar

. Also let me know in the comments what you do to combat the effects of winter and the winter blues.

SOBO Skin Care

, but all opinions are my own*

Here's to another skin care focused post, who else is excited? As you know, lately I've been very serious about my skin and also ways to "anti-age" it (or rather slow down that process lol). This time I was sent and asked to review

SOBO's ULTRA Age Repairing Cream with Reserveratol

.

I was excited as always to try another new product that could possibly make my skin look flawless and also help erase some wrinkles that are starting to form thanks to the California sun blinding me each morning and evening.

I wish I could have taken before pictures (I was so busy I actually forgot , forgive me?) to show you the difference in my skin. But since that didn't happen, you will just have to go by my word ( I promise complete honesty!).

This cream is made with organic products like jojoba oil and apricot kernel oil as well as helpful stuff like reserveratol, squalene and hyaluronic acid, all of which help reduce the signs of wrinkles. As I've said before I know I'm only 22 years old, but it's never too early to prevent wrinkles. I mean wouldn't you rather prevent then succumb to creepy facelifts later on in life?! I know personally, I'd rather opt for doing a little prevention and look more natural. I know wrinkles are inevitable, but at least this way, my face won't be full of them and I can still retain a somewhat youthful look.

What I like best about this cream is how light weight it is and how smooth is goes on. And as with the previous products I've used, a little goes a LONG way. It's very moisturizing and makes my skin feel soft. Even better, right when I started using it, I had gotten this nasty pimple (thanks Aunt Flo) that left a big mark on the side of my cheek. I can be almost positive that this cream is what helped that scar fade faster than similar scars have been in the past.

I really have nothing negative to say about it. I use it now day and night and love that it's made its way into my rotation. The company also offers their

Age Smoothing Eye Serum

, their

ULTRA HGF Youth Serum

and their

Essential Moisturizing Cream

, all of which I want to try.

Don't you want to try these all natural products that will make your skin just look amazing? Well lucky for you SOBO is offering a 25% discount for my readers. Just head over to

SOBO's website

and type in the promo code:

Let me know in the comments below what you think and if you  try the products. Also let me know any requests for post on the blog. And now go have a Happy Monday :)

Makeup Monday: The Curse of Oily Hair

{Source:Me}

So I haven't done a Makeup Monday in some time and decided I should do one today since I've been dealing with a beauty dilemma as of late. Yes guys, I have a confession to make, I have oily hair. It's something I've been dealing with for some time, with my hair being ok some days, and just plain gross others. So I finally seeked some possible solutions to "cure" this problem because let's face it, it's embarrassing to walk around with gross looking hair. Also it's made me self conscious and even my hair stylist has pointed it out. Anyway, here's what I found.

Solution #1: Apple Cider Vinegar Rinse

I know I have talked about the benefits of ACV in a previous

post

, but I don't think I talked about what rinsing your hair with it can do. Just how drinking it can help balance your body's PH, it can also help with your hair's PH balance. This is something I've recently been trying again and I can honestly say its helped, even though I've only done it two days in a row( I was desperate

It helps remove the buildup of products in your hair as well as close the cuticle of the hair. This helps not only strip the hair of the excess("bad" oils) but also leaves hair shiny(not oily). It is recommended  to mix the ACV with some water to make the rinse. This helps it not be overly acidic. I use it after shampooing and conditioning so it stays in my hair and conditions it, post shower. It can also be rinsed completely out. It will still help with the oiliness either way.

Solution #2: Curling it/Applying Heat

So another solution I've tried with mild success has been curling my hair. The heat applied to hair seems to help since it "burns" some of the oil off. I still put heat protectant, but the heat makes some of the oils dissipate. The curls help with the appearance of oil curls don't allow oil to travel as quickly. However, this is more of a trick rather than a solution. It doesn't really solve it long term.

Solution #3: Dry Shampoo

So again this is more a quick, "I'm in a rut", sort of fix. It also only works if the hair isn't too oily, but sometimes my hair is just that bad. The dry shampoo is no match for my oiliest of days. Dry shampoos can either be bought at drugstores or places like Sephora and Ulta, or they can be homemade using products like cornstarch or baby powder. Experiment with what works best for you.

Solution #4: Hair Mask

This solution is fun and often can be home made. I actually have done a couple of hair masks in the past and some have helped a bit. Masks can be done to address oily hair, as well as other hair issues. As you can see, many of the recipes in the image above use ACV. These treatments are meant to be used once a week and the recipes are usually for one use since they can go bad quickly due to the fresh ingredients. Also be warned, these can be messy. I will be trying some of these soon.

Solution #5: Stop Daily Hair Washing

When you have oily hair, washing it everyday seems like something that HAS to be done. It feels like it's the only way to keep it under control, but this might actually make it oilier. When you shampoo/wash your hair, you strip it of oils and dry it out. Your body then responds by overproducing oil and therefore you get stuck with oily hair. Therefore, the opposite of logic prevails in this case, so to speak. One way to reduce oil is then to just stop the daily washing. This is risky though. It is not my favorite solution because a) I exercise daily and this would mean being gross and smelly and possibly look oilier and b) you have an oily mess for some time until your hair adjusts.

I hope this has been helpful. I know all too well the struggle of being stuck with oily, unbalanced(PH) type hair. Let me know if you try these solutions and how they work out for you. Also let me know of any other solutions you have tried/been successful with/heard about in the comments below :)

Makeup Monday: MAC's Maleficent Collection

{Source: Pink is the New Blog}
Today's Makeup Monday features another very much anticipated MAC Collection. It is the upcoming Maleficent collection that is in collaboration with the upcoming live-action Disney film of the same name. Honestly, I'm loving that this form of cross promotion is getting more and more popular.

{Source: Fashion Gone Rogue}
While I don't care much for Angelina Jolie, I am excited for the 11 piece collection because in my opinion, Maleficent was one of the prettier Disney villains, LOL. Plus it means the collection is a bit vampy and dark, which I've been drawn to lately. And don't get me started on the lashes. It is rumored the only 8 out of the 11 products will be limited edition. It's just sad to know the lipsticks will definitely be a one time only sort of deal, so guess I better start camping out(I'm only sort of kidding).

Here are some close ups on some of the products:

The collection should be released in early June, most likely around the time the film premieres.
Is this a collection you are looking forward to? Let me know in the comments.
