Before I begin telling you about the awesome Blogger Event I got to attend at the amazing

Mixx Yoga

in Newport Beach, I want to say SORRY for not blogging in forever. Honestly, I never planned to take any time away from blogging, especially not 2+ months, but you guys know life happens and boy did life happen. In all that though, my time at

Mixx Yoga

was not forgotten. Also, warning...this post is very photo heavy (but you guys don't mind right?!).

Last

I blogged

,

I mentioned how I was doing the

Bikini Series from Tone it Up

that started up in April. Well, this Blogger event was a bit of a warm-up to that (yes I am very late on posting this...again apologies). Fellow blogger Kriselle of

Livin and Lovin

invited some of us SoCal bloggers to get our hearts pumping and our bodies sweatin' while we got our yoga on. And it all took place at

Mixx Yoga

in Newport Beach, a unique yoga studio that combines yoga with cardio and plyometrics.

The studio was founded by Mitra Hooshmand, a neuroscientist who fell in love with yoga while trying to find a cure for her knee pain. Since she was also an athlete she decided to see what would happen if she combined cardio and yoga and that's sort of how

Mixx

was founded. Pretty cool right?! I definitely think so especially because I tend to love it when I can get some cardio in with my yoga.  Not only does

Mixx

have a seriously cool founder, but Kalila our instructor was great too (as are the others).

Aside from being able to experience such an amazing yoga class, what made it all that much better was the fact that I got to do it with some fellow SoCal Bloggers (HCBN girls included), who I finally got meet face to face, and my friend Julia who I brought along for the ride (she used to be a fitness instructor so its apropos). And on top of the awesomeness of the class and the social aspect, we all went home with some

Fabletics

goodie bags (free pants included WOOT WOOT). Kriselle seriously thought of everything (she even hired us a photographer ~Kristen thank you~, cuz hello...Blogger Event). Seriously...enjoy the pics :)

Can you tell we had a blast?! If you live in or are visiting Newport Beach soon, I highly recommend you try a class at

Mixx Yoga

. Mitra and her fellow instructors are wonderful. I truly wish I lived closer, but I will be returning as soon as I'm in the area...for now I'll have to be comforted by my local  studio, cuz yea now I've fallen in love with yoga.

The Liebster Award

I'm really excited for this post as it is my first blog tag ever and well because it came through from one of the first comments I've had on the site. I got nominated for the Liebster Award by Pretty In Glam (P.S. Her blog is so pretty lol I love it). It is pretty much an "award" that's passed around in the blogger community to those with < 200 followers. Once you are nominated/tagged, you give 11 facts about yourself and answer the 11 questions given to you by the person who nominated you. Then you pass it along to 11 other bloggers. So without further ado, here we go!

Selfie much? LOL

11 Facts:
1. I have been vlogging on Youtube for going on 3 years, even though I'm way behind on editing. You can check out my channel here.
2. I have a deviated septum so I actually NEED to get a "nose job". It's bad enough that surgery would actually improve my quality of life.
3. I am a huge Grey's Anatomy fan. And I watch way too much TV, but hey it is my major, sooooo yea LOL.
4. I overthink everything which leads to me being overwhelmed and then I just give up and prop myself in front of the TV.
5. I did a semester in New York, making it able to check off living in New York from my bucket list.
6. I get distracted easily lol. Refer to number 4.
7. I LOVE books!! I always wish I could make more time to read. And my favorite book is Les Miserables by Victor Hugo.
8. I talk a lot when I'm nervous or excited or just in general, but I'm actually really shy. This is why blogging and social media are so big for me. Feel free to reach out.
9. I want a dog, named Bob. So random I know.
10. I can have crazy OCD about the smallest things like color coding notes and having things put in a specific order but by no means am I the neatest person.
11. I need to work on my time management. I hate being late, but can't seem to help it. I'm working on it though?

Some of the products I love

11 Questions:
1. Do you prefer painting your nails yourself or getting them done?
I like the pampering that comes with getting them done, although I don't mind doing them myself.2. What are your future Aspirations?
I would love to become a TV producer and create my own show or become an editor for a fashion magazine, that is if I go with what I'm getting my degree in. I would also love to one day become a full time YouTuber and blogger if I get the opportunity. 3. Favourite make-up brand? (High-end and High-street)
This is a tough one as I have many favorites, but I guess Urban Decay would hands-down be my favorite High-End brand as it is what I seem to have the most of lol. As for High-Street (aka drugstore, I looked it up) it would have to Maybelline as I seem to gravitate to them the most. 4. Favourite fragrance?
As of now, Le Petite Robe Noir by Guerlain.5. Favourite things to read on blogs and watch on youtube?
I love to watch hauls on Youtube as well as beauty tutorials. As for blogs I love to read beauty, fashion and interior design posts.6. What is the best cheapest product you own?

My benefit They're Real mascara10. If you could live someone's life for a day, who would it be?
I don't think I'd like to live anyone else's life but my own. Sure there are days I would love to live in Taylor Swift's or Katy Perry's shoes or even Jennifer Lawrence's, but I've come to realize I've been born as me for a reason.11. Favourite Tea flavor?

I Vow to Love this Blog

Hey so I know I've been a really bad blogger and had said a few months back that I was going to really stick to it and well I failed badly right? Although my "hiatus" wasn't as long as usual so maybe I'm not such a lost cost. Anyway, I do promise I will be posting what I had planned back in August when I arrived in NYC. Not that I really have an excuse other than settling into a place of un-permanence(my word lol) and lots of school stuff and places to explore can make it easy to say "I'll do it tomorrow"but we all know the story of tomorrow don't we?

Anyway I apologize. Thankfully for you guys, I actually have been hit really hard with the blogging blog over the Thanksgiving weekend. I had been thinking about it for a while, but over the holiday weekend I really started being more proactive about doing something past brainstorming(I might have also been avoiding homework, tee her). I have been looking into design especially and how to make my blog a prettier place for your generous eyes. I even created a logo that you will hopefully see shortly (I really worked hard on this)! I am also thinking of creating a whole new template and site, but for now I will stay on blogger and keep you posted.

I am also thinking of how to reach out to more and more of you so I have a clearer picture as to what you guys want to see on here, things you want to know about my everyday life, and anything you want me to review. Also if you follow me on YouTube and that's what led you here, just know I also have my channels and videos in mind, just pretty please with a cherry on top be patient. Don't be shy about reaching out to me, I love receiving any, and I mean ANY feedback although I do prefer the nicer sugar coated kind and don't forget to follow me on Google+(off to the right) or on BlogLovin' or on any social media channel you prefer( I will be working on putting all that together).

Pinky promises + Dreamcatchers,
Astrid

P.S. I also have a Tumblr so let me know if you would rather me post on there or just if you want me to incorporate it.

New Hair...Sorta

Hey guys, so I meant to post this up two weeks ago, but my computer had other plans. That being said, I am now writing my first blog post ever on my new Macbook Pro :) I gotta say, I do prefer this one. Now I've actually had this computer for about 2-3 weeks, but have just put it to use as of recently, concentrating instead on cleaning out my old one and also getting ready for my move to beautiful NYC (post on that coming up)!

Anyway, let's get down to business. The picture above is me on the morning of August 8th, 2013, before I went in for an overdue hair cut. Now I loved my hair this length and really liked the color, but my hair was also full of split ends and my roots were starting to show, A LOT lol. So I decided to go in for what initially was going to be a trim, but ended up just asking to cut about 2 inches to get rid of as many split ends (which I still have a lot of) as well as added layers and bangs for a little change and to add some depth to my hairstyle. Behold the after:
It sure looks fluffier, doesn't it. Well that was right after the cut (initially, I wanted something different then the outcome, but my stylist let me know it wouldn't suit my obnoxiously petite face), but there's more. Since I was moving to NYC and well colorists are expensive, I decided to dye my hair as close to my natural shade as possible. So my sister dyed it about a week ago and here is the final outcome:
The lighter color still shows through a little, but not as much as it appears to do in this picture. I'm kinda glad to be back to a brunette though, surprisingly. So what do you guys thing? Good or bad change? Any trends you want to try or you think I should try? Can't wait to see what your comments will be.

Locks and Tresses,
Astrid
