Trendy Tuesday: Favorite Bathing Suits

Since summer is soon upon us, I wanted to dedicate this week's Trendy Tuesday to some of my favorite bathing suits for the season this year. These are the bathing suits that have made it onto my wish list and I hope to be able to get at least one or two of them, if not all, especially since the ones NEED to be replaced LOL. I'm going to be keeping this post light and simple, so here are my picks:

DailyLook

First one up is this one from DailyLook. I love the blue hue it comes in as people have told me royal blue complements my skin tone. I actually became obsessed with it when I saw it in an email they sent out to me and it's the one I want the most. I also love the strap-y detail of the bottoms and the back of the top, which seems to be a popular detail this year. It's definitely my number one pick.

Victoria's Secret

}

Of course no bathing suit post would be complete without a Victoria's Secret bathing suit. I love this mesh triangle one they have. It definitely gives a nice modern twist to the LBB(Little Black Bikini). I love that this one looks sporty, but still sexy and is different from their usual ultra sexy choices. I love that it's a bit sporty as well, which fulfills the athletic bikini trend that seems to be popular this year.

I had to include this pick from

Tone It Up

's bikini line. I fell in love with it ever since Karena wore it in of their Bikini Series videos. I don't often wear prints, but this one is so fun and screams summer. I also love how the top is constructed. It's almost a corset crop, but not quite. Either way, it gives the illusion of extra support and an underwire, while still looking so sexy. I'd even wear it on a night out.

Nasty Gal

Over the years I've seen one pieces become more and more popular, so I want to include this one I came across. I love that it keeps you covered up, but makes the one piece choice seem to sexy. This choice would really be perfect for just laying by the pool and the t-back detail(not shown) is nice too.

ModCloth

I also came across this retro style bathing suit on

ModCloth

. I love this trend because it is sexy yet modest, plus it's so cute. I love the crop top style top and how very Katy Perry it is(which should be the No.1 reason to wear it, JK, not really). There are also come great retro one pieces I'd try out.

What bathing suit is on your radar? Is it similar to the ones I mentioned or along the same lines?

Let me know in the comments below and as always share anything you'd like me to blog about.

For this week's Makeup Monday I wanted to feature some of my summer beauty essentials. As the weather warms up, it's a good idea to switch up your makeup routine to something more light and natural. This allows skin to breath and you to have more time for summer fun.

1. Sunscreen

Even when it's not summer, sunscreen is always part of my beauty routine. I seriously am paranoid about it because I fear the thought of skin cancer. Last summer I fell in love with Neutrogena's Beach Defense sunscreen. I got the 70 SPF version and love that it has a pineapple scent to it (not sure if that's intentional), which is perfect for summer.

2. BB Cream/ Tinted Moisturizer

It is actually perfect timing for me to switch to a lighter formula for the summer since I just ran out of my Urban Decay Naked Foundation. I have not yet tried Maybelline's Dream Pure BB Cream, but I've heard good things about it. In the past I have used Neutrogena's tinted moisturizer and have loved that as well. Not saying you can't wear regular foundation, but maybe save it for summer nights. During the day, it's just easier to apply a BB Cream or tinted moisturizer and you can just throw it into your beach bag. With so many brands to try, the options for BB creams are endless. Plus they give great coverage with very little product.

3. Waterproof Mascara

This is great to switch to if you can't live without mascara, but are going to be spending your days at the pool or at the beach (avoid the black face streaks). One of my favorites is CoverGirl's Lash Blast Waterproof mascara. It's my go-to drugstore mascara in general, and in the summer you need something that will literally be easy, breezy, beautiful (CoverGirl).

4. Bronzer

Obviously you want to look sun-kissed when you go out in the summer. I love this one from Tarte Cosmetics. I get it in Princess Ave, although I think that's the only option they have LOL. Anyway, I usually get the small travel size one, but it last me at least 2 months.

5. Tinted Blush

I love how tinted blush looks and it's great for the summer. No body wants to look cake, especially in the summer when everything seems to clump and work against you. Plus tinted blushes like this Benefit one seem to give the illusion of a more natural "glow."

6. Lip Balm

Last but not least, lip balms are a must. Yes lips tend to get drier in the winter, but summer can also dry out your skin. Also, try to look for one with SPF so you give your lips protection from the UV rays the sun gives off. Plus, this helps out with summer flings (*wink, wink*).

I hope you enjoyed this post and as always share your thoughts with me in the comments. Also let me know what you would like me to feature on the blog, after all this blog is for you.

Trendy Tuesday Wednesday: White Out

This week's Trendy

Tuesday

Wednesday(sorry it went up late by an hour or two) is all about the color white. With summer just around the corner, white seems like the perfect choice to wear to keep things fresh, yet chic. I personally have always been afraid to wear white because it's so hard to not spill coffee and stuff on myself, but I'm obsessed with this trend and ready to just take the "risk" already.

White is like the black of summer. What I mean is that often people will turn to black because it's easy to wear and can make an outfit look chic and dressed up. I'm sure you've heard that everyone in NYC wears black(not true FYI) and it's how they look so fashionable and chic(sorry I know I'm using this word a lot here). But black in the summer is not fun. Black just makes you hot and miserable in the summer because it attracts the sun and thus the scorching summer heat. So it's white to the rescue.

To wear this trend, I'm going to opt for structured pieces. I definitely want the white blazer and trousers, especially with my internship going on this summer. Another must have item that follows this trend, and that I think is a classic, is the white pump. And of course I'll be trying this trend monochromatically, because I think that makes the trend as sleek as it gets. Now I need to go shop :)

Will you be trying this trend? Any tips for how to make it work/keeping the dirt off? Let me know in the comments below. Also if you have any trends you want me to feature, let me know as well.

Astrid
